Submit Your Story
We publish true stories from people who work while the rest of the world sleeps. Nurses, truckers, security guards, dispatchers, hotel clerks, factory workers — if you’ve seen something on the night shift that still sticks with you, we want to hear it.
// SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
True Stories Only
Every story we publish happened to a real person on a real shift. Fiction belongs elsewhere — we’re collecting the genuine, unexplained, and unsettling moments of the night shift.
Any Occupation
Hospital workers, long-haul truckers, hotel night auditors, security guards, dispatchers, gas station clerks, factory operators, paramedics — all night workers welcome.

500–3,000 words. First person. Write it the way you’d tell it to a friend at 4 a.m. in a break room. We’ll handle light editing for clarity.
Anonymity Available

What We Pay
We pay $50 per published story. Payment is sent within 7 days of publication via PayPal or direct transfer.

We read every submission. You’ll hear back within 14 days. If we want to publish your story, we’ll reach out with light edits and a publication date.
// WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Unexplainable
Strange sounds, impossible sightings, equipment malfunctions with no cause, patients talking to people who aren’t there.
The Human Element
Night shift changes people. The loneliness, the hyper-awareness, the things you notice at 3 a.m. that you’d never see in daylight.
Incident Reports
Real dispatches, security logs, hospital notes. The clinical language makes the strange feel more real.
Night Shift Life
The culture, the rituals, the unwritten rules. The things only people who work nights understand.

// FAQ
Can I submit more than one story?
Yes. Many of our contributors have multiple published stories. Send them in separate emails.
Do I need to be a writer?
No. We care about the story, not the prose. Tell it honestly and we’ll clean up the rest.
Can I submit something that happened years ago?
Absolutely. Some of our best stories are from decades-long careers. Time doesn’t make them less real.
What if my story involves other people?
Change names, locations, and identifying details as needed. We’ll work with you to protect everyone involved.
